January, 10 – January, 19 2014
Opening Reception: Friday January, 10 18.00 – 21.00
Viewers are invited to discover the collection of visualized poetry produced by a Tongeren- based Russian-Belgian tandem, whose practice is linked to an exploration and visualization of the written word by means of photography, voice and film. Printed poems mingle with photos, paintings, moving image and audio-performances.
The authors acknowledge the inspirational role that environment plays in their creative process. Observing midnight Tongeren and silent daytime Het Vinne, they write, photograph, film, voice-over the everyday impressions that reflect their imagination.
Visitors can participate in Anuschka Theunissen’s “2014 in Tongeren” photobooth project. A participant will enter a photo booth in the exhibition space prepared to make a portrait and in a couple of days its postcard-size print will be exhibited in Essenza-Julianus gallery. The photos will also be uploaded to Facebook for the participants to see.
